Georges Braunschweig - photographer free lance- started in 1970 to take his first pictures at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
During concerts, he discovered the great live music and specially musicians in action. He became through the years friend of lots of great artists.
He started to sell his first pictures to newspapers, record’companies, book publishers as well as for publicity. Specialist of ‘Music in Live ‘, he has pictures of ballet, classic concerts, circus , shows and of course of his favourite theme the Pop, Rock and Jazz making of great moments a fantastic collection ‘ Jazz in Action’ pictures
ARCHIVES are in black and white and colours, they report famous concerts and festivals from Antibes, Ramatuelle, London, Paris, Bahamas and the Montreux Jazz Festival for more than 30 years.
His collection includes most of the Jazz’ artists such as BB King, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Charles, Charles Mingus, Astor Piazzola, Charles Lloyd , Bill Evans, Dexter Gordon, Muddy Waters, Gerry Mulligan, Miles Davies, Sonny Rollins, Art Blackey, MJQ, Sammy Davis Jr, and Pop-Rock with U2 , Jimmy Cliff, Zucchero, Santana, Status Quo, as well as Blues-Gospel’ Stars with Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Swiss Jazz Musicians and in classis music The Camerata and Pierre Amoyal, and …many others great artists.
Also works in close collaboration with other photographers as AGENT - in team with Francois Jaquenod, TV realisator who has rare documents from the Montreux Jazz Festival beginning in 1967 until 1970, The White Island Festival, Thelonius Monk- Pop concerts between 1965-1975 – and with Edouard Curchod, photographer, who has been covering the Montreux Jazz Festival since 20 years and is a portrait ‘specialist of personalities.
